{ celebrating america }

How on earth is it July 13th already?
The summer is flying by.
Thought I'd better document our 4th of July while we are at least still in that month!
We had a wonderful time on the 3rd with some great friends in our hometown.
The local golf course had a nice fireworks show, and we couldn't have asked for better company.

On the morning of the 4th, we celebrated birthdays with two very special friends.
It was such a great party. The perfect blend of special event and a low key get together.
The girls couldn't have been happier to swim and play together.
And the adults were pretty stoked to bash the Dora pinata when the kiddos couldn't break it open. :)

That evening, we met up with friends to watch another fireworks show in Normal.
We have always tried to avoid crowds on the 4th and usually watch fireworks from afar.
After watching this year's show up close, I definitely understand the appeal of "being there".
It was spectacular!!

Hope you had a wonderful 4th of July as well!
We have so much to be thankful for as Americans, don't we?
