{ march madness }

This week started off with subzero temperatures and snow, and today we enjoyed a beautiful 50+ degree day.
Spring is FINALLY on the way!
We gained an hour of daylight today and it's such a great feeling to think that warm summer nights are just around the corner!

Another sign of spring is that basketball playoffs are in full swing.
Our high school boys team is having an historic run.
They won the Sectional Championship on Friday night and are in the Elite Eight!
I just love small school sports - LOVE.  I love the way that the community supports the team.
The "last one out of town turn out the lights" feeling when there's a road game.
I love that people are posting pictures of the last Unity team that made it this far...24 years ago!
I love that t-shirts are being printed, elementary kids are drawing posters, and people are scooping up Super Sectional tickets like crazy!
When the bus came home on Friday night from the Sectional win, they had a fire truck escort through town at 12:30 am.
Sirens blaring, people cheering on their front porches, flickering their lights.
SO. Great.
Next game is Tuesday night.  Let's GO MUSTANGS!

In other news, things keep moving right along at the new house.
This week the kitchen cabinets and appliances went in.
The countertops should be in next week.

I caught a bug of some sort this week and have spent the weekend trying to recover.
I thought I'd escaped the winter respiratory illness this year, but I feel like this one tackled me just as I was ready to cross into the end zone.  Hopefully it will be short lived.

Looking forward to a full week this week!
