My friend Debra has been so generous with hand-me-downs for Hannah, and her most recent gift was a big sack of board games that her kids have outgrown. Last week we pulled out Candyland. Not just any old Candyland - but the Dora version!
Hannah immediately loved it! The game pieces are little figurines of Dora, Diego, Boots & Backpack. For round 1, Hannah was Dora and I was Boots. For anyone who knows my husband or his family, you know that they LOVE to play games and are quite likely some of the most competitive people you'll ever meet.
I think Hannah is following in their footsteps.
She *smoked* me, taking every possible shortcut to the Fiesta (finish line) and leaving me to wallow in Swiper's Timeout.
I'm pretty sure old-school Candyland didn't have anything as perilous as Swiper.

Brian came home & joined us for the second game, and again, I got smoked.

First by my toddler.

Then by my loving husband.

There is no mercy in Candyland.Notice Dora happily at the Fiesta in the picture above, and poor Boots languishing several turns behind.

It is so fun to play games with my little card shark. I'll gladly take my beatings.
