Brian and I did something we very rarely get to do:
we took a weekend trip by ourselves!
A couple of years ago, our very good friends from college
invited us to join them on a Wine Trail in Hermann, MO.
Hermann is just a few miles from where I grew up,
but I never really got to explore the wine country while I lived there.
We had such a good time that first year that we decided to make it an annual trip!
With my parents nearby, the kids got to spend some time with them,
and we got to spend a great adult weekend together with our friends!
Win, win, win!!
Unlike previous years, we decided to stay at a B&B
rather than driving back and forth to my parents' house.
I should confess that I don't really think I'm a B&B kind of girl.
I know lots of people really like them, and ours really was nice!
Unfortunately for my 6'3" hubby, I didn't read the fine print on this one
and failed to note that the unit had only a claw foot tub…and no shower.
He was a good sport, HA!

The breakfasts and evening desserts were really delicious, too.

Truly, though, we were there to see our friends and enjoy some wine,
so the B&B was just a bonus!
We started our tours on Saturday morning and visited the Hermanhoff winery first.

We traveled just down the road to New Haven and visited a new distillery there.
The guys were big fans!

We had a great time catching up our our friends.
We have known Wendi and Kurtis for over 15 years.
We were in each other's weddings and have remained close all these years.
They are great friends…the kind where you can pick up no matter where you left off.
This picture was at Robller Vineyards, a personal favorite.

And again at Oak Glenn Winery.

What a fun day!

We also visited Adam Puchta, and finally ended at Stone Hill.

We are extremely thankful to my parents for allowing us this time away.
It was great to reconnect with friends and just spend time together.
Looking forward already to next year's trip!
